Personal Advancement

At A Cup of Tea with a Black Woman, we view every challenge as an opportunity to empower Black American communities. Our strong network of partners and community support allows us to take innovative, hands-on approaches to provide the support needed for individuals to thrive.

Entrepreneurship and Business Support

We offer entrepreneurship classes, assistance with business plan creation, mock interview support, resume assistance, and job placement advisement for Black Americans through strategic partnerships. Our belief is that supporting entrepreneurship and group socioeconomics within Black communities can lead to significant economic growth and stability.

  • Entrepreneurship Classes: Our programs are designed to equip Black Americans K-12 with the skills and knowledge to start and run successful businesses. Regular workshops and seminars cover marketing strategies, financial management, and other essential aspects of entrepreneurship.

  • Job Placement: We assist Black Americans in finding job placement opportunities, providing resume support sessions, connecting job seekers with employers, and offering career counseling services. Our goal is to bridge the gap between job seekers and businesses while offering valuable resources.

  • Community-Based Businesses: We encourage and support the formation of community-based businesses that provide essential goods and services to the local Black community. These businesses focus on vital areas such as water, food, medicine, healthcare, energy, and goods frequently used by Black Americans. Our aim is to create self-sustaining and economically stable Black communities for the future.

Financial Awareness and Educational Skilling

  • Financial awareness and educational skilling are fundamental to the empowerment and advancement of Black Americans, including K-12 Black youth: A Cup of Tea with a Black Woman recognizes the importance of equipping young individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to make informed financial decisions and thrive in the modern economy.

  • Empowering Black American K-12 Youth with financial confidence.

Our organization is committed to providing financial awareness and educational skilling to Black American K-12 youth through various avenues:

  • Tailored Curriculums: We create engaging eBooks with curriculums designed to excite Black American youth about finance, financial awareness, and economic competitiveness. These eBooks once created will be available for free on our website, allowing students to access them at any time.

  • Seminars and Workshops: A Cup of Tea with a Black Woman hosts free seminars, workshops, and events focusing on financial literacy and education. These sessions aim to empower young Black Americans with the knowledge they need to make sound financial decisions.

  • Creating Learning Spaces: We work to establish learning and community centers where students can access educational materials related to financial literacy. Our goal is to make financial education accessible to all Black Americans.

  • Through these initiatives, we aim to empower young Black Americans to take control of their financial futures and create a better future for themselves and their communities.

Health Education & Support

Black Americans face disproportionate challenges related to social determinants of health, which impact overall life expectancy. In many urban and historically Black communities, life expectancy gaps in comparison to economically stronger areas are substantial. A Cup of Tea with a Black Woman aims to be a valuable resource in Black communities where health wellness, access to health goods and services, and food sources are chronically challenging.

Fostering Community Well-being

Our health education and support initiative aims to create safe and supportive spaces for community members to:

  • Access Health Resources: We provide access to Black-owned health goods, services, and food sources to address health disparities within the community.

  • Learn New Skills: Through workshops, seminars, and community development support, we encourage individuals to acquire new skills that contribute to overall well-being.

  • Support Local Health Businesses: Building trust with Black-owned health businesses and the community they serve is a top priority. We believe that supporting local health services strengthens the community and help solve national goals and objectives [HealthyPeople.Gov].

By creating these spaces and fostering community well-being, we hope to inspire pride, ownership, and active participation in improving health outcomes in Black communities.

Skills for the Future (S.T.E.A.M)

A Cup of Tea with a Black Woman believes in igniting early passions for science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (S.T.E.A.M) to set the path for a promising future. We recognize the importance of sparking an interest in technology among Black American youth, especially those from underserved communities.

Empowering Black American Communities

Our organization is dedicated to increasing interest and confidence in technology skills and careers among Black American K-12 communities worldwide. Our priorities include:

  • Expanding Virtual Events: We aim to broaden the reach of our signature events nationally, prioritizing engagement with Black American youth from communities impacted by social determinants of health.

  • Leveraging Corporate Tech Leadership: Partnering with tech industry leaders, we connect Black American youth to networking opportunities, exposure to healthy experiences and community centers that offer access to artifacts, health resources, digital skilling, technology education, and career exploration.

  • Positioning Event Participation: We position event participation as an entry point for connecting Black American youth to future opportunities, fostering a consistent community center for resources, education, and advancement.

In an evolving world where S.T.E.A.M skills are crucial, A Cup of Tea with a Black Woman aims to bridge the gap and provide workshops, design thinking sessions, seminars, and certifications tailored for Black Americans of all age groups.
